Now you get out there and promote it!
A blog post in and of itself can be powerful, educational and informational, and bring lots of value and benefit to your readers. However, publishing a great blog post, just isn’t enough. If your blog is one of the top 10 rated blogs in the blogosphere, it might (and I mean “might.”) get noticed. But, chances are, you are simply one of the many small business owners who have a blog and may or may not post consistently.
With over 876 million web sites (according to Tek Eye – © Eye Internet Ltd.) as of January 2015, your content is getting harder and harder to find; so simply slapping a blog post up on your site just won’t cut it anymore. Can you imagine how difficult it is to find it now? Most small businesses who have a blog are also active on Social Media. Some are active on the main sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, but many are also connected and active on Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and a variety of other niche-specific sites. Some social media goers have huge followings, while others are on the smaller end. The point is … whether your following is large or small, if you are on Social Media, you DO have people following you who are already paying attention to what you are doing on a regular basis, so start telling them when you publish a new blog post![A little PSA here] I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you about my “secret weapon” for promoting my blog posts at this point. I use CoSchedule! It has cut my scheduling and promotion time down exponentially. The feature that sets it apart from so many other schedulers is their little plugin that lets you schedule everything in WordPress … without ever leaving your post! You can read all about it here. Now on to your regularly scheduled programming 😉 Promote your blog posts via social media to get them more exposure!Click To Tweet
Start promoting those awesome blog posts you may have spent hours writing to your followers, and it becomes like the old Herbal Essence Commercial of … you tell one and they tell one and so on and on. If you set up a schedule to post your “consistent” (yes I said consistent) blog posts on a staggered basis to your social media channels: Facebook, Twitter (lots more than one time), LinkedIn (updates & long posts) and even Instagram and Pinterest if that’s where you also find your target market and ideal clients, your posts and website have a much greater chance of being seen among the over 876 million websites I mentioned earlier. Then, before you know it, your social media reach will be bigger, your blog posts will be noticed by more people and on and on … it’s that glorious ripple effect!
