If the money is in the list, then we should, by all means, be driving people to our opt-in pages and opt-in boxes, and encouraging and enticing them to join our lists. Right?
The thing is … people simply aren’t going to give you their email address and allow you into the inner sanctum of their inbox unless you offer them something they want and need. Makes sense, right?
So let’s talk about this. What freebie, free offer, give-away, pink spoon or whatever else you call it, do you offer as an enticement to get your ideal client to join your list? (I really hope you already have something set up to grow your list – but if you don’t, let me know. It’s what we do!).
When was the last time you updated or changed your free offer? Is your offer still relevant to your target market? Is the information up-to-date? Does it still represent the services you provide?
Better yet, does it convert? Is it an offer that works? Is your list growing?
In the craziness and business of an entrepreneur’s daily life, it’s easy to forget about, and neglect some of the processes and systems we already have in place. We get so busy trying to keep up with all of the other things on our plate, we don’t always remember to make sure what is already in place is current and still of value and benefit to our ideal clients.
I’ll admit, it’s been a while since I’ve updated my own freebie … my free report on 15 Ways Your Online Marketing Support Specialist Can Help You Turn Time Into Money. Yes, it is still relevant to my target market and ideal client, but it could still use a little dusting off and refurbishing. It’s actually been on my to-do list for a while. But you know the saying about the cobbler’s children having no shoes. I know enough to advise others to do it. I just need to put my money where my mouth is and do it myself.
So, I’ll leave you with this …
Take a good look at your free report or whatever else you use to entice people to join your list. Then ask yourself these 5 questions …
- Is it still relevant?
- Does it convert?
- Does it still reflect the services you offer?
- Could you offer it in a different format that would be more enticing?
- Do you need to completely rethink your free offer and start over?
Then, get busy and do what you need to do.Is your opt-in freebie relevant? Does it convert?
