Do you want to showcase your expertise to potential clients? Are you concerned about the amount of time it takes to coordinate an in-person seminar or event? Then you should consider a Virtual Event. A virtual event? You know a teleseminar (aka teleclass) or webinar in which you make a presentation to a group via a conference call line or the Internet. Where do I start, you ask? Well, of course we have the team to support you! Our suggestion to clients wanting to venture into the virtual events realm is to start with a teleseminar. Whether you want to do a paid Teleseminar or just want to share your expertise, teleseminars require very little coordination both of technology and time. Typically you decide on a date and time for your presentation, reserve a conference call or bridge line, and then advertise the Teleseminar. You might send out a few emails and even have a preview call to promote the actual event. On the day of the teleseminar, you log into the ca ll a bit early and welcome attendees as they come on the call. At the start of the teleseminar, you give a bit of background about yourself and share a little bit about why you want to share your expertise, and then present! At the end of your presentation, you’ll want to open up the call line for questions from your audience. (Of course another option is to have someone coordinate all of that for you – meaning that person acts as an emcee or call coordinator. They welcome the callers, they read your bio and they coordinate the question & answer period).
One of the best advantages of a virtual event is the ability to re-purpose your content. By repurposing your content, you can get a lot of mileage out of your presentation. Most conference call providers have a recording function, so why not record the teleseminar and offer a download of the presentation on your website or blog? Then you can also post a link to the recording on your social networ ks for even more exposure, or offer the recording as a paid product. You could also break up the recording into 5 or 6 chunks and create an “audio series” of your information. Now that’s efficiency!
