Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the good ole’ US of A. While Thankfulness should be a moment by moment occurrence in our lives, this is the time of year when you typically see these posts about thankfulness, 30 days of thankfulness posts on Facebook, and all of the other obligatory comments and posts about being thankful.
I do my best to keep a thankful attitude in my life, because I truly do have so much to be thankful for … every single day, and every single moment! But, since tomorrow IS Thanksgiving, here we go …
Admittedly, this has been a difficult and confusing year for many people, and many businesses. I’d like to think everything is going to magically straighten out at the end of the year and we’ll get to start 2021 with a fresh and shiny, back to our regular viewing, kind of year. Sadly … I’m not sure that’s going to happen. At least not just yet. But that doesn’t mean I can’t be thankful right now, and remain thankful no matter what happens, or doesn’t. And truthfully, I do have so very much to be thankful for.
First and foremost, I am thankful for my Lord Jesus Christ and what He accomplished on the cross for me. I am thankful for my Heavenly Father, who made that possible, and continues to take care of me moment by moment, step by step, as I continue to trust in Him.
I am thankful for my family. In addition to my extended family located here and there across the globe, I have a loving husband who supports me and has continued to put up with me and my many shortcomings for the past 23 years. We have three children, and a wonderful granddaughter who has blessed us with two beautiful great grandsons. If I had nothing except what I have already shared, I would still be most blessed and thankful.
Thankfulness is an attitude of the heart and can be found even amidst the trying of times. What are you thankful for?I am thankful for my church family … all of the wonderful men and women of God who bless my heart in more ways than I can share.
I am thankful for my business … all of my clients past and present, my team members, and colleagues who have supported me in business and in life.
I am thankful to have a solid, mortgage-free roof over our heads that provides shelter and security, vehicles to drive, food on the table, and good health.
Is everything perfect? No. But I still have so very much to be thankful for.
Whether you’re able to enjoy Thanksgiving with friends and family this year or not, it can still be a time of thanksgiving. I’ll be celebrating with my daughter, one of my sons, my granddaughter and two great grandsons (and two grand-kitties) tonight, and then again with my Mother-in-Law and a few other of my husband’s family. We’ll miss those who won’t be joining us this year, but will continue to be thankful none-the-less.
I am also thankful for all of you … those of you who read my ramblings from year to year. Thank you!
Whoever you are and wherever you are, I wish you a most blessed Thanksgiving!
