We Love, love, love building and maintaining membership sites. And our platform of choice is Wishlist Member. If you like using WordPress, then you’ll love WishList Member too!
Many people have tried to turn WordPress into a membership site but in the past it’s been quite tricky. There are some fabulous plugins out there but you had to “tweak this” and “tweak that.” And, if you aren’t technical, it typically becomes very frustrating. That’s why we love WishList Member so much. It’s a membership solution that was
specifically built for WordPress.
The best part is, it has all the features you would want in a membership solution AND it is compatible with all of your other favorite plugins! So you get the best of both worlds 🙂 Plus, they continue to add very cool features with each update to make running and managing a membership site a whole lot easier.
Like I said, if you like using WordPress, then you’ll love WishList Member. If you want to know more about the plugin, just let us know. If you already have a WishList Member site and are tired of trying to maintain it yourself, we can help there too … just schedule a complimentary 20 minute call to discuss the details.
And yes, we are an affiliate for WishList member … because we love the product so much 🙂
Last week we looked at 5 of the top 10 membership models. To review, we looked at the Publisher, UPS, Micro-Continuity, Modular Course and Protected Download area models, all of which are typically paid memberships. Today we’ll take a look at the other 5 models in the top 10, which are usually not fee-based membership sites, but instead, an added feature or communication tool for your business.
6. Community Center: A community center would simply be a membership site that is driven through a forum such as SimplePress, a WordPress plugin that integrates very nicely with WishList Member. Members pay a monthly fee to join a community, and then communicate through forum discussions. Forums are very popular with many industries, and are often used as optional methods of support for products and websites. Companies like Lavasoft, Infusionsoft, WordPress, and many others have added forums as a level of support to encourage users to share their vast knowledge and experience to troubleshoot and solve technical issues. Associations and organizations often take advantage of forums to encourage interaction among members – to give them that sense of community and comradery. [Read more…]
As a WishList Member Certified Developer (and yes this is an affiliate link and I do get $$ if you use it to purchase the product), I just love introducing my clients to the world of membership sites. Over the past couple of years, Membership sites have been popping up here there and everywhere, and have quickly become the next best method for getting known as an expert in your field, building a community or developing your next product! For those of you who have been thinking about jumping into the world of membership sites but just don’t know where to start, I’ll be covering the top 10 membership site models over the next couple of weeks to give you an idea of the possibilities, and hopefully get your creative juices flowing. Part 1 will cover the first 5 top membership models, and we’ll finish up with Part 2 next week.
1. Publisher Model: This is probably one of the most common membership models, as it is one of the easiest ones to set up. With the publisher model, fresh content is delivered on a regular, ongoing basis – typically daily or weekly. With this type of membership, it doesn’t matter when someone becomes a member … because they will automatically gain access to the current content as well as all of the content that has been published in the past, which can be delivered in a variety of ways … as articles, audio files, video, PDFs, etc. A good example of this model is http://www.money-guy.com/. Content is delivered as an audio interview on a weekly basis with both a free and paid level of membership. The free level gives members access to the 15 latest shows and show notes as well as receive an email update every time a new show is posted. The paid level (Premium), however, gains instant access to a variety of other benfits and features. [Read more…]
If you haven’t already noticed, I am a Geek! And nothing excites the geeky side of me more than new upgrades to my favorite programs and software and business tools. I just love it.
I am especially excited about the newest version of Wishlist Member that was released yesterday … with some wonderful new upgrades that I have been patiently (well, maybe not quite so patiently) awaiting.
If you are a Certified Wishlist Developer (like I am), the site owner of an existing Wishlist Member site, or someone who wants or plans to have a Wishlist Member site in the future, then these upgrades will probably excite you too.
While there are many very nice additions to the newest upgrade that I’ll share with you below, the two that really float my boat are:
I don’t usually use my blog to promote products, but wow, I’m really impressed … and you won’t find this advertised on their site.
But … I just got the inside scoop that there is a somewhat “secret” promotion happening this week that gets you a 74% discount. Of course it won’t be a secret for very long, because I’m blabbing it to everyone I can think of.
It’s a one-week promotion, and here are the details…
From March 11th-17th, WishList Products (who sell the famous WishList Member software) are giving anyone who purchases a Single Site license the chance to get a second license at a whopping 74% discount.
It’s only available through this hidden page:
So for an extra $25, you get a second license.
WHY IS THIS SUCH A GOOD DEAL?
Besides the huge savings, you’ll find that once you start using WishList Member, you’ll quickly see that there are many ways to use it. Trust me, I know. I just completed the WishList Training and Certification course, and was absolutely blown away at how many different ways you can use it. Plus, it is so incredibly easy to use.
For example, a little while back they released a free training video demonstrating 10 of the most popular kinds of membership sites (and some of them don’t even have content inside!).
You can view that here:
The point is, now is the best time to get this because of this one week promo.
Remember, you won’t see this special offer advertised on their main site.
The only place you can get it is here:
It’s by far the best solution for creating a membership site and there are even 30+ videos available for free showing you how it’s being used.
P.S This 74% savings on the second license is only available until March 17th so I highly recommend you take advantage of this before the offer expires:

The world of the Internet is constantly evolving, from its terminology to its software. The Internet is changing the way we communicate, and opening a whole new world of social media. Blogging is one such constantly evolving method of communication, and WordPress is one of the leading platforms people are using to blog.
WordPress is a free, web-based software that is open source, which means its basic code is available for developers to build upon and alter at will. WordPress is the successor to b2cafelog, the original blogging platform, but this blogging child has evolved beyond its blog roots. Its open source flexibility means that programmers across the globe have altered its functionality until WordPress has become a content management system (CMS), or a program that creates, edits, and manages website content, as well as blog content. The best part about WordPress is that it doesn’t require knowledge of PHP or HTML code to use it. WordPress is a basic templating system, where the blog or website creator chooses the look and rearranges the content. And now, with the addition of a simple, but brilliant plugin, you can easily turn your WordPress blog into a membership site!
You gotta love WordPress.
I know I posted something just the other day about membership sites using WordPress and WishList Member, but I just recently got back after attending an incredible three days in Buffalo at WishList Member Live, a workshop hosted by Stu Mclaren and Tracy Childers, the founders of WishList Member – and I’m really pumped up. I’m especially excited about it because we’re getting more and more requests to set up membership sites for clients, and the WishList Member plugin makes our job so much easier and enjoyable!
When I say “Membership Sites“, what’s one of the first things that comes to mind?
Residual income right?
Getting paid month after month is definitely a nice situation but here’s the problem…
If you can’t get your membership site off the ground, you’ll never be able to enjoy the residual benefits of having one.
And that’s where most people get stuck.
Because they either make it too hard or they get caught up in the “technical” aspects of building a membership.
Here’s the good news…
I found a solution that will make this a breeze for you.
It’s called WishList Member:
If you like WordPress, you’ll LOVE WishList Member because it quickly (and easily) turns your blog into a full fledged membership site.
It’s a excellent product and they have great support (including 30+ videos you can view for free before even buying the product).
Take a look:
P.S. If you sell any “digital products” online, you may also want to look at this as a way to deliver your products because it gives you greater control over who has access to your products 🙂

P.S.S. After you purchase your copy of WishList Member, give us a call to find out how we can help you get your membership site up and running – You’ll be glad you did 🙂
