Yes, Facebook’s impending algorithm change is a hot topic. And yes, I’ve talked about it in my weekly tips newsletter. I sent an email out to my clients, and even mentioned it in my Marketing BizTip yesterday. Not because it’s something business owners need to be freaking out about, but because it IS important to business owners whose Facebook pages are an integral part of their marketing strategy, and they simply need to know how to adjust their strategies considering the changes.
Ever since Social Media entered the picture, marketing has taken on an entirely new look and feel. With more and more social media platforms popping up here and there, there are even more opportunities to market your business. And, with more and more people on Social media trying to get their message out to their friends and followers, it’s crowded out there. Which, is one of the reasons Facebook is making the big changes to their algorithms you keep hearing about.
Are you on Twitter?
It doesn’t seem to get as much action as it did way back in 2008 when I first opened my account, but it’s still a very viable social media platform if you want to be “seen.” And most business owners realize being “seen” or “visible” is one of the primary goals of marketing.
LinkedIn is one of the primary social media platforms I use for business. Facebook and Twitter are the two others that get the majority of my attention. Facebook makes it super easy to engage and build relationships. LinkedIn, not so much. Due to the “professional” nature of the platform, the easy banter and ability to talk about just about anything under the sun of Facebook doesn’t work on LinkedIn.
What does your Twitter engagement look like? We all WANT more Twitter engagement, right? But are your tweets getting the engagement and activity you want from your followers? Or does it seem as if they are just floating out there in social media never-land … with no engagement or sign of being retweeted? Does anyone even see them?
A good question to ask is … are you including images or links or hashtags, or are they simply text-only?
We all want more engagement on Social Media. Right? Because … wait for it … we want more visibility and visibility = more eyes on our stuff!
Here are simple 5 things you can do on Facebook to engage your friends and followers.
