Social Networking … a refresher

December 27, 2012 By Terry Green

According to the 2011 Social Media Marketing Industry Report, 78% of marketers saw increased traffic with just six hours a week invested in social media. Social Media Examiner

THE WHY

Social Networking is a major game changer and it’s here to stay. The Internet has fundamentally changed how people find and share information. The days when all you needed was a really big Yellow Page Ad and a little networking here and there are fading quickly, if not already a thing of the past. With the Internet as our “office space” and playground now, we have the ability to connect with potential clients, business partners, vendors … you name it, no matter where they are in the world, quicker, faster and better than ever before. Facebook and Twitter and LinkedIn. Oh my!

March 6, 2012 By Terry Green

With so many Social Media platforms available today, updating and managing each one of them individually can really take up large chunks of your valuable time. There are, however, some really great tools out there that will help you manage and update all of these platforms easily – one of them being HootSuite!

One of the main benefits of using HootSuite is the ability to schedule your status updates. You can create your content for your social networks once a month (or on whatever schedule you choose), and then schedule them in HootSuite for a date and time you choose. With a paid account, you can even create a spreadsheet of status updates and upload all of them at one time. This HootSuite option is a bit quirky and may require a bit of patience in order to work [Read more…]

To post or not to post, that is the question!

November 22, 2011 By Terry Green

Do you think social media is a fad? You may be right. You may be wrong. At BizEase Support Solutions we recommend getting the most out of social media right now. You might as well attract your ideal client by participating where they are. Considering there are over 600 million users on Facebook, chances are your ideal client is there. Instead of dismissing social media let us help you embrace it. Who knows where this will go in the future?

Just remember that social media is all about building relationships. Chances are the people on your list or in your network follow you because something about who you are resonates with them. Therefore, when you are participating in social networks share things that are interesting and significant to you. If you find content interesting there are others who will too. It helps you build your “like, trust and know” factor with others.

Don’t have a social media plan? Give us a shout … we’ll hook you up with one of our social media specialists.

Twitter vs. Facebook: Spreading The Word Without Annoying Users

January 11, 2011 By Terry Green

by Terry Green

When it comes to viral marketing, Twitter is the most popular. Its service has all the signs of a promotion-friendly medium – it’s public, incredibly easy to use, and boasts one of the largest user bases of any social media website (75 million in January 2010 according to ComputerWorld). A single tweet can easily swell into a thousand-strong meme (an idea spread through the Internet), with users flooding the website and generating huge amounts of instant press.

But does your business really need a flood of traffic that, except for a thin connection, most likely wouldn’t be interested in your promotion? Each of Twitter’s promotional strong points has one or more disadvantages too – public promotions can often hurt a brand, memes can occasionally lead to subsequent marketing disappearances, and message flooding can be misinterpreted as spam.

Social Media and Other Online Platforms: A Balance of Branding and Sales

December 9, 2010 By Terry Green

by Terry Green

The 1980s are remembered for developments in business and technology, particularly computing. Remember your first big, clunky computer? The 1990s are remembered for advances in technology, particularly the growth of the internet and online business. Wow, how things have grown! If the 2000s are to be remembered for anything (although it is still too early to tell) it will be for developments in communication and online communities – particularly the incredible power of social media.

Social media gives major brands and companies some serious power and clout, but it is rarely used as it should be. Commitments to quality are often let down and overlooked; and opportunities for branding, direct sales, or indirect marketing are often passed over without thought. These missed opportunities cost businesses, so preventing them from slipping away is essential for operating a smooth business.

Mastering Cyberspace – Going Viral with your Video

September 30, 2010 By Terry Green

By Terry Green

If you incorporate key viral traits into your video, your target audience will spread it online via email, Stumbleupon, Digg, Delicious, Facebook, Twitter and the plentiful other share options posted on personal blogs and company websites.

One of the most important key qualities that your viral video must have is an acceptable length. All the net is atwitter with bite-sized content that leaves the reader/viewer/visitor eager for more. Your viral video is there to get the word out and not necessarily to broadcast all of the information associated with your organization, service or product. A viral video creates awareness of your brand. Leave the informational part to links – to your website or blog -where the viewer can follow up. By keeping your video on point and under three minutes, you’ll greatly increase your chances of hooking an endless stream of viewers.

Facebook Fan Pages – A Must for Businesses

March 16, 2010 By Terry Green

It used to be that a website was all a business needed to have an Internet presence. Not anymore. While a website is still an important feature of promoting your business, it is no longer enough. To reach your customers, you must go where your customers are: Web 2.0 or the social web. The social web has become an essential part of a successful marketing plan.

Facebook is the leader of the pack in the social media arena. According to TechCrunch in November 2008, more than one in five people who used the Internet visited Facebook. The growth of Facebook has increased ever since, and likewise, has become essential for business marketing. This new style of customer contact requires implementing new and innovative ideas when it comes to marketing.
