Some writers can write freely and not suffer from SOS (Shiny Object Syndrome). But if you are NOT one of those people and find yourself easily pulled away from the task-at-hand, WordPress has a great option for distraction free writing. Did you even know WordPress has a full screen mode? Many WordPress users have never used this feature; but it can be a great way to focus, write, and get your content created quickly. To enable this feature, click on the “toggle fullscreen” button in the toolbar which is the second button from the right, in the first row of your WordPress Dashboard.
When you turn this feature on, you’ll see a full blank page with no distractions on either side, perfect for writing. A minimal version of the toolbar is available at the top, but only appears when you mouse over the area with your cursor, still allowing you to use the main functions like bolding, italics, bullet points and spell-check, but without the distractions. If and when you tire of full screen mode (or finish your content), simply click the “exit fullscreen” link in the upper left corner.
