Many of us are prolific picture-takers thanks to technology and platforms like Pinterest and Instagram. Gone are the days when we merely commented “Hey, I just saw a rooster in a pine tree!” Now we take 10 pictures of the rooster and post them everywhere online.
Recently I discovered something called SnapGuide. SnapGuide is a unique tool that is the big brother to the multiple picture collage option. SnapGuide is useful for when you are trying to convey and share a multi-step instruction/visual guide for tasks, projects or activities to your readers or clients.
An app for the iPhone or iPad, SnapGuide allows you to create instructional guides on your phone, complete with videos, captions, and pictures. Another slick option is their dictation feature. Need to verbally explain a step in your guide? No problem, just give your guide a verbal caption by speaking into your iPhone (for 4S only). You can also fine tune your creation as well, by simply tapping your images in your main guide window to add captions to them, delete things, or move things around.
These completed “guides” can be published and shared via your blog, Twitter or Facebook. They can also be emailed, making them a handy instructional tool for clients and customers.
