Struggling to find relevant content to fill your Hootsuite schedule? You’re in luck. This well-used and respected third-party tool recently rolled out a brand new feature called Suggested Content to its users. This feature allows users to enter up to 3 topics (i.e. coaching, marketing, social media, etc.) enabling Hootsuite to search the web for the latest news relating to the 3 topics entered. This feature also creates a posting schedule for you by suggesting times to schedule, and can also edit the posts before they’re published by adding hashtags or putting a more conversational twist to the verbiage.
In the Hootsuite Publisher tab (left sidebar), click on “Suggested Content.”
Select a twitter account
Choose your topics (3)
Select where you’ll publish your suggested content and add as many networks as you need.
Click Next and Hootsuite supplies you with a list of relevant links and topics that can be modified and scheduled. Delete the ones you don’t want and even tweak the choices you’ve made. Suggested Content is available to Hootsuite Pro and Enterprise customers only and is currently a free option.
So far I’ve shared why you need to incorporate images in your social media efforts (The Power of Vibrant Images – Part 1) and the tips and tools you need to create great shareable images (Part 2). Now let’s talk about tools and options to get your images disbursed to social media in a timely fashion.
Pingraphy: Pingraphy is an on-line option that allows scheduling of Pins on Pinterest over the course of days/weeks to help users abide by the unwritten rule of “dribble-don’t dump” when it comes to sharing their images. Pingraphy also has an option that can track Repins, Likes, Clicks and Reach for every Pin as well. This site is not free, but still pretty affordable.
Hootsuite provides you with the option (as you are scheduling your Tweets, LinkedIn posts, and Facebook updates) to attach an image. Look for the paper clip icon next to the scheduling option and attach your images to your outgoing social media updates.
Facebook Schedule Feature: When it comes to adding images to Facebook, Hootsuite will work, but your images will be larger and more prominent if you schedule them organically right within Facebook. Look for the clock image in the lower left corner of your update area to be able to schedule date and time for your vibrant images along with your updates.
The online world moves fast, and ironically, regular life does too. Social media is now considered an important piece of any business’ marketing plan these days adding yet one more layer of “things I have to do” to a business professional’s already jammed schedule.
That’s where helper tools like HootSuite, Buffer, Ifttt, TweetDeck, dlvr.it, and MarketMeSuite all come in handy when it comes to scheduling posts and updates to your social media networks like Twitter, LinkedIn, Goggle+, Facebook, and now even Pinterest. [Read more…]
I’ve always been a fan of using HootSuite. But I have to admit, I find myself using it less and less these days for Facebook updates. The main reason is that oftentimes Facebook updates scheduled on HootSuite will not contain the native Share button once posted, which a pretty big deal since you really want people to share your tweets. But as far as using HootSuite for Twitter goes, it still remains a super-valuable tool and a personal fave. The following is a quickie list of ways to get the “Best Hoot for Your Buck” when using HootSuite to schedule Tweets. [Read more…]
With so many Social Media platforms available today, updating and managing each one of them individually can really take up large chunks of your valuable time. There are, however, some really great tools out there that will help you manage and update all of these platforms easily – one of them being HootSuite!
One of the main benefits of using HootSuite is the ability to schedule your status updates. You can create your content for your social networks once a month (or on whatever schedule you choose), and then schedule them in HootSuite for a date and time you choose. With a paid account, you can even create a spreadsheet of status updates and upload all of them at one time. This HootSuite option is a bit quirky and may require a bit of patience in order to work [Read more…]
