I’m finding all kinds of cool software, tools and apps to share with you lately. A couple of them have actually been recommendations from others. Last week I told you about RecurPost, a free social media scheduling app that recycles evergreen content, recommended by one of my team members. This week’s is a very unique (and reasonably priced) CRM tool recommended by a prospective client, called Cloze. It’s the little beauty I mentioned in the Monday Marketing BizTip – on Tuesday live video I did.
Follow up, follow up, follow up. Yes, I know I say that all the time, but it’s an area where so many business owners fall short. I can’t tell you how important it is to the life of your business. That is if you’re interested in having clients.
There are many business owners who rock when it comes to follow-up. But that’s not the case for everyone. Some of us (yes, I am including myself) are not always as diligent with follow-up as we should be. Some, not at all.
We all know the frustrating feeling of being in the dark on a project, event or job. Now turn the tables and imagine your valued client feeling the same way. Taking extra steps to keep everyone in the loop can save all involved from making inaccurate assumptions or serious miscommunication. Failure to communicate within your business’s culture can also lead to some unpleasant side effects with staff, like ambivalence to detail, not adhering to rules and dismissal of company strategies and goals. Worse-case scenario; poor communication could have a detrimental effect not only on your company’s efficiency, but also customer/client satisfaction. [Read more…]

Unfortunately these situations are bound to happen and are not an “if,” but more like a “when,” for business professionals. What to do in these circumstances is important; but it is just as important to know what NOT to do in order to prevent a sticky situation from going sour in a very public way. [Read more…]

Hello – anybody out there? (Silence…) Hello … Honestly, this is how it feels at times in business. You can hear a pin drop while waiting for a response from someone with whom you’re trying your best to do business. You leave message after message, which just go unanswered. You write—no reply. You call—no answer. Not only can it be frustrating, but it can also be detrimental to the success of your business. Communication is key to a successful relationship, and when communication is lacking, things tend to fall apart—big time.
Not only does a lack of communication cause things not to work out like they are supposed to, but it can cause a lack of drive and momentum. Honestly, nothing can stop a project in its tracks faster than dead air. That’s why good communication is essential.

You did it this time. In your haste to get your marketing campaign out and announce your next big event, you sent the wrong link or contact information. No one is going to sign up now because there is no way to get to the sign-up page or contact you.
