The more engagement and interaction we get on our Facebook business page (on any other social media platform as well), the more the algorithm Gods will react in our favor. However, coming up with ideas to help increase engagement and get your updates seen is an ongoing battle. New ideas and tactics are being presented all the time. Some are effective. Some are not. I’ve mentioned before about how asking simple questions in your posts can raise engagement and get your fans talking.
I used to really enjoy participating in Facebook Friday events. The ones where everyone posts a link to their Facebook page so we can get to know more about them. However, it soon turned into a tit-for-tat “if you like my page, I’ll like yours,” or “I just liked your page, now go like mine” fan-fest that took away a lot of value for many of the “likes” your page would get. In fact, it often caused more harm than good.
While you might get several new “likes” on your page each time you participate, if they are unqualified likes by business owners who simply want to get likes for their own pages, never again to return to yours – it has a negative impact on your Facebook page’s engagement rate.
I know we’ve all just about reached our fill of hearing about Facebook’s bells and whistles, apps, and changes. But for the longest time, one major (for some people) problem remained; the inability to take pictures with their Mobile devices and post those pictures directly to their Facebook Business Page (profile-YES. page-no). Up until now, achieving that result was the equivalent of doing the Three Step without all the fun and music.
Then along came Instagram. Instagram is more than just a fun app to create funky pictures of your kids and pets. Instagram allows you to take great looking pictures with your mobile device and post them directly to wherever you choose, or in this case, directly to your Facebook business page wall. Instagram is available for both the iPhone and Android, and users can also share to Twitter and Tumblr.
Not everyone has a visual business, but for those who do, Instagram allows business professionals to post and share pictures from events or live seminars in real time. Instagram is free and yet another way to share your business activities and milestones with your Likers in a streamlined, non-cumbersome way.
