Resist the Snooze Button: Although it’s tempting to hit “snooze” for an additional ten minutes of sleep, resisting the urge every day for 6 days will gain you an extra hour in your week. Focusing on what you are gaining instead of what you are losing may make it easier to get up in the morning.
Plan the Next Day the Night Before: Planning for your next business day at the end of the current day can help to avoid that “spinning your wheels” feeling when you get when you first get to work and don’t know where to begin. Complete nagging tasks and prepare your Priority List before you leave for the day so you can make a fresh and focused start the following morning.
Take a Technology Break: Making the choice to shut off all devices and step away from the internet for even as little as 30 minutes can be tough (especially if your business depends on it). However, if you make the choic e to block off some “technology free” time every day you will be amazed what you can get done when there’s no Skype, email or social media dragging your attention away from the task at hand.
