LinkedIn has been busy adding new upgrades and benefits to its regular and paid users, but there is one that is causing an exceptional stir. The addition of long-form posts was recently added because LinkedIn decision makers felt allowing their users to publish blog post-like information on their platform was an effective way to strengthen their professional reputation, share their knowledge, and display their expertise with connections. In the past LinkedIn users have been able to add samples of their work or videos in the Summary section of their profile, but the addition of the new long form posts allows users to share their experiences, knowledge and strategies regarding their business or industry in an easy to read text format.
Once users click “publish,” their new post will be shared with connections and could potentially reach a broader audience of industry peers. Posts can also be shared across social media and is even searchab le to those who are not considered a LinkedIn connection. Any content published automatically becomes part of the user’s professional profile and is displayed within the Posts section of their LinkedIn profile.
