Just in case you were wondering, there are only 74 days until Christmas! Oh. My. Goodness! If you’re a marketer, that’s really not a lot of time.
Which means, TODAY is Thanksgiving in Canada, and there are only 45 days until Thanksgiving here in the US. And while it’s not yet Halloween (19 days if you’re wondering), there are already Thanksgiving and Christmas items up in our stores.
Why do I bring this up in my Marketing BizTip? Because the holidays are upon us, and if you have a product or service, you should have already started your holiday marketing! If not in practice, at least in the planning stages.
I was reminded, by one of the social media experts I follow, that more people are in “buying” mode during the holidays. So why not take advantage of that holiday buying state of mind our ideal clients and customers are quickly succumbing to?
It makes sense to have a holiday marketing plan. We market differently in the summer when the kids are out of school and vacations are in full swing. We adjust our marketing in the fall when the kids are back in school and business owners are getting back into the swing of things after having a house full of kids or being out and about over the summer. Why NOT have a holiday marketing plan and take advantage of some of the busiest buying times of the year?
For some that might mean simply changing the look of your marketing by adding a little holiday cheer (or scariness for Halloween) to your blog posts, social media posts, videos or social media profiles. To others it might include holiday sales or special offers. Consider your target market, ideal client, your products and services, and see how creative you can get to mix up your marketing over the holidays. Have a little fun with it!You've got a holiday marketing plan, right?
If you don’t already have a holiday marketing plan, now is the time to get the ball rolling.
There are a lot of ways you can promote your products and services over the upcoming holidays … Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years!
