In my inbox this morning … there was a mind boggling email from one of the vendors I frequently use, with the horrific subject line of “Only 69 Days ‘Til Christmas!”
Oh. My. Goodness!
Which means, there are only 37 days until Thanksgiving here in the US. I’m not even going to count how many days until Halloween.
Why do I bring this up in my Monday Marketing BizTip? Because the holidays are upon us, and if you have a product or service, you should have already started your holiday marketing!
I was also reminded this morning, by one of the social media experts I follow, that more people are in “buying” mode during the holidays. So why not take advantage of that “holiday buying state of mind” our ideal clients and customers are quickly succumbing to?
It makes sense to have a holiday marketing plan. We market differently in the summer when the kids are out of school and vacations are in full swing. We adjust our marketing in the fall when the kids are back in school and business owners are getting back into the swing of things after having a house full of kids or being out and about over the summer. Why NOT have a holiday marketing plan and take advantage of some of the busiest “buying” times of the year?[clickToTweet tweet=”You’ve got a holiday marketing plan, right?” quote=”You’ve got a holiday marketing plan, right?”]
For some that might mean simply changing the look of your marketing by adding a little holiday cheer (or scariness for Halloween) to your blog posts, social media posts, videos or social media profiles. To others it might include holiday sales or special offers. Consider your target market, ideal client, your products and services, and see how creative you can get to mix up your marketing over the holidays. Have a little fun with it!
If you don’t already have a holiday marketing plan, now is the time to get the ball rolling.
There are a lot of ways you can promote your products and services over the upcoming holidays … Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years!
