It’s common knowledge that email marketing has become one of the easiest and fastest ways to reach your audience, get your content in the hands of your target market, and ultimately make money online. Let’s face it. A good email list can be like gold. Unfortunately, when it comes to building a responsive email list, it’s easy for business professionals to get stuck in a rut. Repeating the same tired message over and over on your website will only result in low or non-existent opt-in rates. By keeping your ideas, offerings and approach fresh, you will keep the pipeline open and ensure new subscribers will keep coming, and better yet, staying.
As business owners, we see promise after promise of the next guaranteed way to grow your list. But it really is a lot more simple than that. And the simplicity of building your list isn’t necessarily something new and innovative, but instead, can be accomplished with tried and true methods business owners have been using successfully for quite some time.
Here are 3 easy list-building strategies that have worked, and continue to work successfully for many speakers and coaches and other small business owners
1) Entice new subscribers with an irresistible offer. If you want business owners to give you their email address and an OK to send them your information, you need to entice them with something that will provide value and benefit … a free report, eBook, checklist, email or video series that not only speaks to their pains and struggles, but offers a solution. Find out what your target market and ideal clients want and give it to them. Plain and simple.
2) Offer new subscribers free access to a member’s only website where they can get access to subscriber perks, additional information and special offers. It doesn’t have to be an elaborate site where you give your subscribers the key to your castle, but I’m sure you can come up with something you can offer to your subscribers that provide provide value and benefit. Be creative. Again, find out what they want and give it to them!
3) Offer a chance to win a prize by holding a free contest or giveaway for subscribers only. Contests and give-aways are fun. We all love to win prizes. I know I do! So if we all love to win prizes, why not use prizes to entice people to join your email list? Have a contest where the winner receives a signed copy of your book or one of your lower priced courses. Heck, you can even do something as simple as giving away an Amazon gift card.

Building an email list doesn’t have to be difficult, but it does take a little time and effort – and is worth it! Having a healthy subscriber list will enable you to stay in the forefront of the minds of your target market by providing value and benefit to them again and again.
