Now that you know the 3 main components I believe you need for an affordable, yet effective content marketing strategy, it’s time to learn about promoting your blog posts in order to get your content out in front of your viewers.
Promoting your content isn’t difficult at all. Since you already know who your target market is and where they hang out (I talked about that in a previous post), it’s just a matter of sharing your content on those platforms.
The easiest way to share your content on social media is with a content scheduler. There are several really good ones to choose from. It’s a matter of figuring out which one meets your needs at a price you can afford. Some of the most popular ones are Hootsuite, CoSchedule, Meet Edgar, RecurPost, and MissingLettr. Each one has its pros and cons, based on your needs. Both Hootsuite and RecurPost have free plans. The others paid versions only. Facebook no longer allows content schedulers to post automatically to your profile, just your page; but you can still share your post on your profile manually.
If you have share buttons on your blog, you can also share your posts as soon as they are published, on whatever social media platforms you’ve connected.
Another great way to share your content is through 3rd party websites like Tumblr, Triberr, Medium, and of course … LinkedIn Publishing. With sites like LinkedIn Publishing and Medium, it’s always a good idea to wait a couple of weeks to give Google time to index your post and confirm ownership, and the link back to the original post. I use a plugin for Tumblr so it automatically pulls in new blog posts from my feed, as well as a handy dandy share button on my site for Triberr.
Sharing your content is easy … and necessary if you want people to see your content. Simply writing an article or blogpost and publishing it on your website isn’t enough. If you don’t promote it, chances are, no one will see it.
Over the past 4 weeks I’ve talked about how easy it is to have an affordable yet effective content marketing strategy, why you need to build relationships on social media, the importance of blogging and email marketing, and now … how to promote your blog posts and articles. If you want your content to be seen, you've got to promote it where your target market can see it!
If you’d like to know more about creating a content marketing strategy, or specifically about some of the components we’ve discussed, just let me know. I’d love to schedule a complimentary discovery call to discuss your needs in more detail, and see if we might be a good fit.
It’s the beginning of a new year … let’s work together to get it started off in the right direction!
