Online trainer frees up valuable creative mental space – A BizEase Case Study!
A client was referred to us about a year ago, after he started reaching out to his network for help with his growing online training business. This man was absolutely buried in emails and spending so much time responding to customer requests and working with the trainers using his system, he was unable to focus on marketing and growing his business, so it could become more profitable and sustainable.
His website was out-of-date, yet working enough to bring him business. But, because he was generating so much interest and didn’t have the infrastructure in place to support this level of success, he was scrambling.
As it happens with most people in this position, he was struggling to keep his head above water. His marketing wasn’t where it needed to be. He didn’t have time for social media marketing. It was a challenge to get his newsletters out, he was having a hard time gathering client testimonials, and knew his copy needed work. This poor guy was having a tough time sleeping, and hadn’t been on a vacation in years! When I first spoke with this client, our first order of business was to get a rundown of everything he was currently doing, and an idea regarding where he wanted to be. We set up a retainer package for him, based on how many hours per month he could afford.
Then, I enlisted the troops. I began by bringing in team members who could help with the areas he needed help the most. We started taking care of his website issues and are now in the process of building an even better website to fit his growing needs. We got his shopping cart running efficiently, tidied up some copy for his newsletters, and started working on an online marketing plan for him.
As things started to settle down a bit with this help in place, this business owner was able to start focusing on new products and get his mind back in the game. There are six of us actively working on this client’s projects. In addition to the new website we are designing, getting his membership site in order, and a few other things, he has recently approved a new social media marketing strategy we’re in the process of implementing. We’re looking at making his branding more consistent, and he’s also enlisted us to start working on his sales copy.
Our main challenge at this point is that he’s so fired up with ideas, we’re trying to pace things, so we stay within his retained hours per month. A great problem to have!
