I can hear you now … more stuff about email marketing? Really?
The answer is yes, really! Statistics show email marketing is very much alive and well, and STILL one of the most effective marketing tactics. But don’t take my word for it, here are 25 email stats that might surprise you.
Unfortunately, many business owners get so caught up in social media (still a very important component of a good marketing plan!) they slack off or completely forget about the importance of email marketing. Simply put, (according to Wikipedia), “Email marketing is directly marketing a commercial message to a group of people using email. In its broadest sense, every email sent to a potential or current customer could be considered email marketing.”
It can be as simple as sending out an ezine (electronic newsletter) on a consistent basis or sending out an email broadcast of interest to those on your list on a regular basis, or both, or more. Whatever you choose to send to those on your list, it’s just another means of staying in touch … a way of staying in the forefront of the minds of your clients, your prospects and whomever else has signed up to be on your mailing list. There are many systems and services available to incorporate email marketing into your marketing strategy. There are MailChimp, 1ShoppingCart, Infusionsoft, iContact, Constant Contact … and a host of other service providers that are made specifically for this purpose. Which platform you choose will depend on whether or not you need an all-in-one system that includes a shopping cart or a system that does only email marketing, the specific features offered by each system, and the cost. For someone needing a simple, efficient AND cost effective system, MailChimp is the bomb when it comes to email marketing platforms. If you need something with a shopping cart, affiliate program and a gazillion bells and whistles to create complex funnels and systems, AND cost is not a big factor, Infusionsoft is a really great system too. The others (in my opinion) fall in between.
Whatever system you choose though, and whatever you decide to include in your marketing strategy, you need to do something.
