I’m always talking about how important it is to promote your blog post on your social media channels once you’ve published it.
Just slapping a blog post up on your site and hitting publish won’t be very effective if people don’t see your content. And they won’t see your content if they don’t know it’s there. Content promotion is so important if you want people to actually see what you post. As I mentioned last week, another great way to get more eyes on your stuff is to cross-post on sites like Triberr, Medium, and Tumblr.
Engagement is still very important. So yes, you do want to take a few minutes from time to time to share and comment on both sites for more interaction; but getting your content up on the sites to increase blog traffic doesn’t need to require a lot of extra work.
Triberr: With Triberr, you can simply add your blog’s RSS feed to your account and it will pull in your posts. For some reason mine would stop working after a while and I’d have to go into Triberr and update, so I installed the plugin on my blog and it works like a champ.
Get more eyes on your content by cross-posting on 3rd party sites like Triberr, Tumblr, and Medium!Medium: With Medium, content promotion is easy. You can either manually add your posts to the site, use Medium’s handy import tool to pull your posts into their system. A quick edit here and there once it’s pulled in, and you’re good to go!
Tumblr: Tumblr is the other site I publish to regularly. Another site similar to Triberr and Medium, and another opportunity to get your content out to a new audience, without any extra work. I use a plugin by Grow Media for all of my social sharing needs, and Tumblr is one of the options for sharing sites. Once you set your account up, it takes just a minute or two to share your content on Tumblr.
Medium, Triberr, and Tumblr are just three additional content promotion resources you can take advantage of to get your content out in front of more people with minimal effort, so why not? You never know who will see your content or where your next client will come from. Your post might just be seen by the right person at the right time.
What’s my favorite saying about getting more eyes on your content? Yup … you got it! “More eyes on your stuff = more visibility. More visibility = more clients!
Are there other third-party sites you like to take advantage of to increase blog traffic and get your content in front of more eyes? I know there is, of course, LinkedIn publishing, but what other ones are available that you would recommend? Leave your recommendations in the comments!
