Did I just say wealth of your content? Yes, I did. Wealth. Your content is valuable isn’t it? If it’s not, then you might as well stop right there and go on to something else. However, if it does provide value and benefit to your audience, then yes … it’s wealth to your business!
I have been talking a LOT about promoting your content on your social media platforms, and posting it on 3rd party platforms like LinkedIn, Medium and Triberr. I’ve also been talking a lot about repurposing your content via audio and video. However, there are even more ways you can spread the wealth of your content.
Be a guest blogger or write articles for an online/print magazine!
Guest blogging is a great way to get more eyes on your content. The big bloggers do it all the time by guest blogging for high-traffic sites like Post-Planner and Social Media Examiner. Many are also getting published on Forbes and other well-known sites.
While you might not be able to get right in as a guest blogger on one of these very well-known sites right away, you can get started on a smaller scale. Who knows what could happen after that!
To start, identify some of the bloggers or websites you enjoy that provide value and benefit to your target market. Many of them look for guest bloggers from time to time. Contact one or two of them to find out if they are open to a discussion, and see if your content is a good fit. It certainly can’t hurt to ask. Another way to get more eyes on your stuff is to write articles for an online or print magazine. Getting your content into an online/print magazine gets you out in front of an entirely new audience.
I just happened to fall into a sweet gig like this about a year ago. A good friend of mine recommended me for a position as co-editor of the Coaching Tools section of Choice Magazine, a digital/print magazine for coaches! My target market is speakers/coaches, so…uh, yeah! I was definitely interested. Choice is a quarterly magazine, so I get four opportunities per year to publish two reviews of tools and apps that might be of benefit and interest to coaches! Talk about getting my content in front of new eyes! Not to mention my photo and bio in each issue. I don’t know how long the gig will last, but for now … I’m loving it.
