What’s the best way to find out the wants and needs of your ideal client? What’s the best way to find out what burning questions are keeping those same clients up at night? What’s the best way to ask your clients what your business is doing right, and what it’s doing wrong?
Sounds simple right? But when you tally up the time and effort it would take to connect or contact each and every one of your clients to ask these questions, the task suddenly seems daunting and way too time-consuming. But wait, there is an easier way.
Conducting online polls and surveys has been a useful way for businesses to collect information for years, but it’s one many business owners often neglect to take advantage of. Thankfully there are lots of sites and programs available to make the process of collecting and sifting through information easy, painless and efficient. Here are 4 to whet your whistle …
Crowd Signal: Crowd Signal (Once known as Polldaddy) lets users create powerful and easy to use surveys that supply quick audience feedback. Crowd Signal’s Pro version allows for unlimited surveys and unlimited responses. While it does have a free basic account, their Pro Plan is $17 per month.
Quick Tap Survey: Quick Tap Survey is the alternative to Survey Monkey. From what I can tell, Survey Monkey does still have a free version, but it is very limited. Quick Tap is $19 a month, which is much less than the paid version of Survey Monkey, and has unlimited everything! Check them out to see the extent of what you can do.
Facebook – While polls aren’t available on your Facebook profile, you CAN conduct polls in stories, on your Facebook page, and in groups.
WP–Polls: A free WordPress Polls plugin, WP-Polls is a wonderful tool for creating quick polls and survey forms for your visitors. Users can create polls to appear on widgets, posts and pages; another great way to find out what your visitors want.
NOTE: The rule of thumb with online surveys for your business is to keep it short and simple. Your customers and clients are more likely to complete a survey when they know it won’t take more than a minute or two. Recommendations include short surveys with one common topic, short succinct wording, and a multiple-choice format.Ask your target market questions on your Facebook page, in groups, and in your story!
So what are you waiting for? Determine your best option for surveying or polling your ideal client and those in your target market and find out what they really want … you might be pleasantly surprised!
