The comment rates on simple questions are more than double that of regular Facebook updates; however I want to point out a few key points to keep in mind when using this engagement garnering trick wisely.
Keywords: Try asking questions that include words like “would,” “who” and “should.” Studies have shown these types of questions get higher response rates over questions that start with “why” and “how.”
Ask Appropriate Questions: If you are a coach or an author, asking your fans a question about groundhogs or the drought in Dubai may not be a wise tactic. Short and Sweet Please: When asking questions that initiate a response on Facebook, pick ones that can be answered in a sentence or less. A question like, “Why do you love your mom” is less likely to get a response than a simple question like “If you could give your younger self advice in two words, what would you say?”
