Here we are again! The holidays are upon us and there’s a shiny new year straight ahead. This is a great time to set some business goals for 2019. As an online marketing professional, my team and I are always excited to see what happens when our clients start putting more effort into certain areas of their business.
What happens, you ask? The results are generally increased sales and decreased stress. Woot! Would you like to get in on that? Let’s start with some goals!
In this post, I’m going to share the five things I believe all entrepreneurs can be doing more of in the new year; and I challenge you to implement as many as you can into your online marketing plan for 2019.Get a head start on 2019 with a few goals to boost your business!
Record more podcasts. If you haven’t been podcasting yet, it’s time to start! If you already do podcasts—great! But can you be recording more? Are they working for you? Do you need better editing? How is the content you’re currently using in iTunes and other sites to promote your episodes? Podcasts are only gaining in popularity, so I strongly suggest you make a point of upping your podcast game in the new year. If you need help, reach out to a team like ours with experience in creating and promoting podcasts.
Create more content. Content is still king. Even if you’re already writing a weekly blog and posting regularly to social media, I’m willing to bet you could still invest more time (and/or money) on content creation. Good content will never go out of style. People do still read, you just have to give them something worth reading! Remember, time is precious. Write good content that provides value to the reader and you’ll be golden. This could be email newsletters, eBooks, infographics … recycle old content and create more.
Share more video content. If content is king, video is queen. People love video, so why not give them what they love! Dust off your marketing plan and see where you can include videos. Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter make this easy, allowing you to do live broadcasts and upload short videos. You don’t have to go for Oscar-quality footage here either. The purpose of video marketing is to put a human face on your business and engage your audience. That’s it! You can read more about it here!
Do more delegating. If you don’t have a team in place to help you run your business, it’s time. That’s really all I have to say about that, but if you need to read more about the why’s of delegating, be my guest! This is an oldie but goodie, but still very applicable to the growth of your business today!
Schedule more downtime. Yes, you read that right. In the new year, I want you to spend more time relaxing, and less time stressing. Personal care is important, and none of us business owners takes enough time for it. Make sure that in the coming months—and beyond—you’re taking time for you. Always remember … if you don’t care for yourself, you won’t have the energy to care for your family or your business. This isn’t fluff stuff, people. It really, truly matters.
