One of last week’s blog posts was about how to convert your Instagram account from personal to business. Since Instagram is quickly becoming one of the top social media platforms, today’s blog post is about three lesser known features to help you up your game.
UTMs: Feature #1 is the ability to add UTMs to your links so you can monitor your traffic. What are UTMs? Here is a great article from the Hootsuite blog that explains it all.
Private Collections: Feature #2 is the ability to create private collections so you can save the posts of others – without them knowing you’ve done it. This allows you to have them in a neat, tidy place to access later should the need arise – or just because. There might be an Instagrammer who posts beautiful images you’d like to keep, or one who shares great content you want to be able to access quickly. Or like me, your granddaughter might post lots of photos of your favorite great grandchildren you want to keep 😉 . Whatever the reason, it’s now super easy for you to save and keep track of them.Have you created any private collections in Instagram?Click To Tweet
Video Replays: Feature #3 is you can now replay your live videos in Stories. If you’ve tried to do Instagram Live posts before, you know they would disappear as soon as your live streaming was done. You had to quickly save them to your computer if you wanted to keep them for any reason. You still need to save your videos if you want to keep them, but now, you can replay them in Stories – for 24 hours. This gets you a little more viewing time for your videos.
If you’re wondering if you should be on Instagram, here’s a stat for you. According to an article on DMR, Instagram 700 million monthly active users! It is undoubtedly becoming more and more popular and more and more “the place to be” to gain more visibility. Are you on Instagram? You can check out my Instagram feed here!
