The social media platforms we all know and love are always changing, so there are always new crops of social media updates popping up here and there. Social media updates in general are usually based more on things like Facebook continually changing their algorithm, or LinkedIn adding new features to improve networking and keeping track of your stats.
However, since we are using our mobile devices more and more for social media on the go, updates for mobile apps tend to be geared more toward improving the user experience and making it easier more desirable to become more and more mobile dependent.
That being said, here are 3 new features added by Instagram, Twitter and Facebook to make your mobile experience even better.
Instagram now has a new search feature that shows trending posts.
Ok…so what?” you may be muttering. What this new feature means to speakers and coaches is that, as they grow their following on Instagram, their most popular photos have a chance of “trending” just like on rival Twitter. Not only can YOU find trending hashtags and places, but others will be able to find YOUR trending hashtags and places. This new addition is yet another tool in your arsenal for growing your visibility on Instagram.
Twitter and Google announced that tweets now appear in mobile searches!
Back in May of this year, Twitter and Google teamed up to offer U.S. users who are doing searches in English the option of seeing relevant Tweets in their search results within the Google app (iOS and Android) and mobile web. This option will make its way to desktop searches in the future, but for now, it’s a handy mobile perk.
Facebook introduces Instant Articles for its iPhone application.
Facebook describes this new tool as a way to access quicker-loading, interactivity-rich posts geared toward mobile devices. Facebook has teamed up with nine partners to provide a constant landslide of relevant articles including heavy-hitters like The New York Times, BuzzFeed and NBC. What does this mean for business owners and social media users? Easier access to the shareable information their likers, followers and connections crave.
