I’m hooked on blogging. It is still one of the best ways I know of to get your content out there in front of your target market … and keep those who are interested in your “stuff” returning to your website time after time for more. In actuality, the main goal of content marketing, is to drive people back to your website, so it makes sense to me to add blogging to the mix.
3 tips to getting the most bang for your blogging buck!
Link an older post to a newer post: Did you know … linking an older (related) blog post to a newer post will boost the SEO ranking of the new post? Say you’re writing a post on content marking and there is a post on content marketing tools you did several months ago. Edit the older post to include a link to the newer post and it will help boost the rankings of the new one.
Add a contact form button to a blog post: It’s easy to add a “contact form” button when you are creating a blog post or page. This way visitors can hit the contact page button and be taken to your contact form … OR most contact form plugins allow you to add a short code to embed your contact form into your post so they can fill out their contact information without ever leaving the post or page. The idea is to make it as easy as possible for your readers to contact you. You can also take this concept one step farther, and embed an opt-in form at the bottom of your post so every time someone reads one of your posts, they are prompted to opt-in to your newsletter list or sign up for your blog. Include a Click-to-Tweet in your post: Truth be told, your readers love to share your content; and you can make it super easy for them to do by adding a Click-to-Tweet option in your blog post. There are a couple of ways to do that. You can use the Click-to-Tweet plugin by itself, but it’s also included in the Social Warfare sharing plugin if you have it installed.
