I’m a huge proponent of blogging for business for many reasons. But most of all because it’s one of the best ways I know of to get your content out there in front of your target market … and keep those who are interested in your “stuff” returning to your website time after time for more.
In light of my love of blogging, here are three little tips to help make your blogging efforts more effective.
Did you know … linking an older (related) blog post to a newer post will boost the SEO ranking of the new post? Say you’re writing a post on content marking and there is a post on content marketing tools you did several months ago. Edit the older post to include a link to the newer post and it will help boost the rankings of the new one.
If you have it installed, the Jetpack plugin for WordPress has a nifty feature that will add a “contact form” button to the admin area when you are creating a blog post or page. This handy feature allows you to add a contact form at the bottom of your blog post – so instead of having to hyperlink the words “contact me” to your contact page when leaving a call to action for your readers to contact you, you can hit the contact page button and add a short form for them to fill out their contact information without ever leaving the post or page. You can also create other, more targeted, contact forms and add them to posts and pages.Make it super easy for your readers to share your content by using Click-to-Tweet.Click To Tweet
Truth be told, your readers love to share your content; and you can make it super easy for them to do by adding a Click-to-Tweet option in your blog post. There are a couple of different ways to do that. You can use the Click-to-Tweet plugin by itself, but it’s also included in the Social Warfare sharing plugin if you have it installed. An added bonus … if you’re not using the Social Warfare plugin, you might want to check it out! It’s really cool.
Any tips you’d like to add for better blogging? Just hit reply and let me know. I’d love to hear them.
